10C 15th Anniversary Communications Campaign
I worked at 10C Shared Space, a coworking space that also operated as a social enterprise (think: investing in the community, food sovereignty, supporting startups), during the summer and fall of 2023. Initially, I was hired as a Canada Summer Jobs employee and eventually I took on the role of Communications Coordinator.
2023 was the year that 10C turned 15, and the communications team wanted to develop a campaign for celebration and marketing purposes. The goal was to highlight the structure itself, as the building is the foundation for how the organization “makes space for change.”
Based on a drawing that an artist who was affiliated with 10C had done, I created a “sketch” of the 10C building by tracing a photograph on Adobe Illustrator. I later used the sketch for a variety of 15th Anniversary promotional materials, including social media posts, posters, newsletter banners, and prints. The hand-drawn look aligns with the mixed media aesthetic of 10C’s branding, which I helped to create alongside the marketing team.
As pictured here, we printed this design onto promotional tote bags. The typeface is Livvic, which I selected as the header font of choice for 10C’s brand guide. Livvic is a sans serif font that is both professional as well as optimistic and playful. These qualities match the personality of 10C’s brand.
Once I had designed the base sketch on Illustrator, I added the circular badge lines and text on Canva; this is the main design platform that 10C staff use due to its ease of sharing and user-friendly interface. I also used Canva for the campaign design and assets and applied it to the other promotional materials depicted here.
